Spatial Poem

David Heathcote Numberless Islands exhibition opens today until Saturday 31st May 2014 at GV Art  and I was delighted to attend the private view last night. On display is a selection of art work that covers the breadth of Heathcote’s career as well as displaying some new abstract landscapes. Spatial Poem, above, is my own my personal favourite as I loved the use of colour and the shapes.

He works with a wide range of media including oil, paint, printing and drawings which are reflected in the diversity of his work on display here.

Colourful is the first word that comes to mind to describe the exhibition. I loved his use of bright, vivid colour.

Loved his note-book as it gives a sense of intimacy with the artist's work

GV Art is a small, contemporary gallery which focuses on the relationship between art and science. The gallery is like a tardis as once your through the narrow shop front the gallery opens out and is on two levels. It’s located in Chiltern Street, one of my favourite roads in London which has been in the spotlight recently for the opening of the Chiltern Firehouse, André Balazs's boutique hotel. The street is full of delightfully quirky, independent shops and cafes and both the gallery and the area well worth a visit.
