City Highlights

St Paul's Cathedral

The City of London is best known today for its banking and financial institutions but it is also one of the oldest parts of the capital. For a long time London was what we now call the City of London, and it was only gradually through time that it expanded to become the great metropolis we know today.

The City of London Highlights walking tour provides a fascinating introduction to the area and showcases its impressive sights, such as St Paul's Cathedral, the Guildhall (the City's town hall), Mansion House (where the Lord Mayor lives) and the Bank of England (exteriors only).

The Guildhall

The City, which is often referred to as the Square Mile due to its size, is compact and easy to walk round. Its attractions are more subtle and less well know than its West End neighbour, but the discerning visitor will discover hidden alleyways and back streets, small parks and gardens and beautiful historic buildings including an abundence of small parish churches.

St Lawrence Jewry

City of London bespoke walking tours are particuarly popular with family and educational groups who are looking for a general introduction into this unique and historic part of the capital.
